The Story Behind TDMP
The Dental Management Partners (TDMP) was founded in 2018 by Simon Chaplin-Rogers, Nick Forster and Jamie Chaplin-Rogers to address a growing challenge in UK dentistry — the increasing difficulty for associate dentists to step into practice ownership.
As the industry evolved, the burden of administrative management and financial risk grew. Competition from corporates made it harder for associates to purchase practices, and many successful owners were unable to pass their practice on in the traditional way.
TDMP was created as an alternative — a partnership model that gives clinicians the financial backing, strategic expertise and operational support to own and grow their own practices, without losing the independence that defines great healthcare.
Built by Clinicians,
for Clinicians
Simon and Nick are both clinicians with decades of experience across both dentistry and medicine, with careers spanning dental partnerships, NHS leadership, medical practice and dental training. Jamie, with a strong background in corporate sales, has led the organisation since its creation, helping to shape its strategic direction and growth.
Rather than building a traditional corporate group, the founders set out to create a model that preserves what makes individual practices special; their clinical leadership, identity and patient relationships. This combination of clinical insight and commercial leadership continues to underpin TDMP’s approach.

Our partnership model is built on trust, transparency and shared success. Here’s what our partner dentists have to say about working with TDMP.
James Pugh
Partner, Vida Dentistry, FarehamAs an associate I always had ambitions to run my own practice but felt held back by three things. The ability to secure funding, a lack of business acumen and a lack of confidence in my ability to deal with banks, solicitors and ultimately run a practice.
I was very fortunate to be introduced to TDMP by a mutual friend. TDMP provided me with an affordable path into practice ownership through their partner model. They removed the financial roadblocks, dealt with all the due diligence that goes into purchasing a practice and most importantly, supported me during the first couple of years of practice ownership.
I now operate with a large degree of autonomy with the day to day running of the practice but have the peace of mind knowing TDMP’s finance and marketing teams are there in support and I can call on the Directors’ years of experience when needed.
In hindsight, I would have struggled to run a practice by myself so the TDMP Partnership model has been great for me and something I would recommend to any associates with aspirations of being a practice Principal.
Nikos Louskos
Partner, Waterside Dental Practice, HytheI have been the single owner of a busy private dental practice for approximately five years, and partnering with TDMP has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my practice and my personal life. They have provided operational and financial support from day one while fully respecting the practice’s clinical team and staff as well as its unique identity.
They have supported my role as a clinician and practice owner whilst opening new opportunities within the group. The reduction in stress and financial pressure has been remarkable, allowing me to focus on what truly matters within the practice — patient care, team development, and growing the practice sustainably — as well as spending more quality time with my family.
What stands out most with this partnership is the balance between support and autonomy. I’ve retained my original role and autonomy within the practice, backed by a knowledgeable and experienced partner who adds real value. It feels like a true partnership with clear structure rather than a takeover, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any practice owner considering this step. Similarly, in my opinion, teaming with TDMP offers by far the best and most sustainable way for a young dentist to make the transition from an associate to a practice owner.

Parner BChD, DPDS, Cert Med ed, MSc (Dent Impl)I had the privilege to be in partnership with Simon for 8 years and always valued his dedication and support, not only as a partner but also as a fellow clinician. Simon had a charismatic way to engage staff and fellow clinicians, which helped us to build a patient centred and motivated team.
As a fellow foundation dental trainer under the Oxford Scheme, Simon was inspiring to the younger dentists and a great role model to follow.
Common Questions About Our Partnership Model
Unlike a corporate acquisition, TDMP operates as a genuine partnership. We don’t take over the running of your practice, change its name, or impose central decision-making. As the operating partner and principal, you retain responsibility for the day-to-day running and key decisions. TDMP’s management team is on hand to support and advise, helping you build a strong, sustainable practice on your own terms.
Our ideal partner is an associate dentist looking to take the next step into practice ownership, with a strong track record of patient care and dedication to the profession. We also work with existing practice owners looking for a partnership structure that provides operational and financial support while preserving their autonomy and clinical leadership.
Nothing changes. Maintaining the brand and identity of a practice is integral to our strategy. We respect the unique personal identity and patient relationships that individual practitioners have spent years building.
TDMP provides support across the areas that typically create the biggest burden for practice owners: acquisitions assistance, finance, management guidance, operational support, HR and legal support, marketing, IT, training and procurement efficiency. You get the backing of an experienced management team with deep clinical and commercial expertise, without giving up control of your practice.
TDMP provides access to finance and a platform for increased income compared to a normal partnership split. We help remove the financial roadblocks that traditionally prevent associates from purchasing practices, handling due diligence and providing ongoing support through the transition into ownership and beyond.
We work with all parties to ensure a sensible handover period, but we are flexible and committed to making sure everyone involved feels valued and supported throughout the transition. There are no rigid tie-in requirements — we work to find an arrangement that suits both the outgoing and incoming clinicians.
Our model is built on reputation, clinical experience within the management team, and a proven track record of improving practice performance. These aren’t things that can be replicated overnight. Our leadership team brings decades of experience across the UK dental sector, and our approach is grounded in genuine partnership rather than financial engineering.
TDMP currently partners with 15 dental practices across the South of England, serving over 80,000 patients annually through a network of more than 120 dentists.
